I found this funny and a little creepy at the same time.

That is creepy.

But it reminds me of some rather odd "inventions" based on the adjustable wrench. Like ratcheting ones or ones that automatically set or several other dumb ideas.

Actually you gave me an idea. For brake line fittings how about a flare nut wrench with the ability to clamp down on the nut - like a vice grip.
I don't mean the "parrot nose" vice grip we've discussed...

But an actual flare nut wrench...

That clamps like a vice grip...

I guess it would be a bit like the clamping adjustable wrench, but with a specific flare nut jaw...
