WTB: Driver's side (left) Front Control Arm

True Classic
Looking for a Driver's Side (left - so there's no confusion) Front Control Arm. Midwest and FiatPlus don't show them online.

Obviously, I'd want one where the boot isn't torn...

I did not know that. But what is the quality like?
They seemed like a quality replacement but more so they were the only new available. This is what I wrote when I did them

They looked to be good quality, but note that only 1 side was threaded for the small bolt that locks the radius rod main bolt. I just used a longer bolt & nut to secure.

That's interesting. I don't know, but I sort of doubt anyone has ever made these arms other than Fiat? Possibly they are actually remanufactured and just referred to as "new"? 🤷‍♂️

Ah... good to know.

I do have them in stock. Here it is on my web store:

The store shows two, but I just pulled a pair for a client's project in the workshop. I can still get new lefts, but the price will double. I am told "no more rights", so I will probably need to look elsewhere if I want to restock.
Years ago I talked with major suspension manufacturers in Italy about doing a production run. No interest.
I spoke with some companys in Argentina, also no interest. They never got the application cars there.
I get emails constantly from Chinese manufacturers, but I would question the quality.

Thanks for the information Chris. And thanks for watching out for quality issues on parts. Things like suspension bits are not nice when they break.

First off......new arms are still readily available. If our vendors do not have.....Ebay is full of them. Just search for "Fiat X1/9 control arm"..

But...does your existing ball joint have play in it ? Or just has a ripped boot ? If you caught it in time....and no play yet....you can easily rebuild that arm by cleaning/re-greasing the joint portion and pop in a new ball joint boot and a new inner rubber bushing. The parts to do that are indeed available...

Yeah... I goofed when I was looking. I was laying on my back when I took the photo so the driver's side control arm was on *my* right side. So when I went looking, I was looking for the right front. When I made the post here, I realized the error of my ways but didn't realize I'd goofed when looking at vendor sites.

I just ordered the one posted by @jimmyx . The description says NOS, so maybe that'll be accurate??

It's had a ripped boot for a few years - I first noticed it when we were in the midst of a multi-year drought and my car rarely got driven in the rain. I wrapped it in plastic - the type used for securing bundles of stuff - and then covered that with gaffer's tape. Now that I'm putting things back onto it after paint, I realized it was something I had to address. Rebuilding it is definitely something I can consider...

I ordered a pair (L&R) of these for my K20 project a couple of years ago from this seller. They were NOS but don't remember if they were Fiat or TRW? In any case he is a good seller with quality parts.
