X1/9 International project - October, 2000.
A progress report and RFH (request for help).
At this time I am ready to take basic measurements of the car.
These measurements will be used to design the basic frame and run FE analysis for strength and stiffness.
Points to be measured:
· 1. Powerplant support points.
· 2. Suspension support points.
· 3. Bumpers' attachment points.
Information required for analysis:
· 1. Loads vectors (magnitude and directions) to be used for analysis.
· 2. Strength requirements.
· 3. Stiffness requirements.
A good soul by the name of Matt Ralph from West Midlands (UK I guess) offered to help with the structural analysis of the new frame.
This is a good time for any and all to add or comment relating to this phase of the project.
