X1/9 racing air dam and splitter WTB

ProCoach

The driver is the greatest performance variable.
Looking for this. MWB lists out of stock.

FYI, the MWB item was based on an earlier design created by a former forum member and sold through a different vendor. Those earlier units have been out of production and sold out for a very long time. But the quality and fit of them was terrible. And the original design had the splitter / air opening for the rad higher up and angled more upward, reducing the air flow to the rad significantly. You really don't want one of them. Look for one of the MWB ones, they were better quality and a more 'track' focused design. Also, a very long time ago there was a Dallara style body kit intended for track use with a very similar looking front nose panel (incorporating a spoiler/splitter). It appears close, but it won't fit unless you use the front fenders, etc, that go with it. So be careful what you find in the used market....some may look the same but are not.

I think the ones you are referring to is like the one I have. its from serpent auto. Mine is angled. I dont know if they still have it in stock. I actually got the one in that is actually their photo of Joe's car ( bought it from him)

Yes, that's the one I was referring to. I bought the last one that was available and I don't think they made any more.

Sorry for the small pic (below) but it's the only one I could find offhand. This is the similar looking nose piece I was referring to that was part of a Dallara inspired body kit. The kit was designed for a race car build with lots of original body work removed. I believe it might be what was referred to as the Bob Boing kit (not sure how his name is spelled). However my understanding is if you have stock front fenders this nose panel won't fit:

I believe these pics are of the MWB nose:

Honestly I'm not certain if it was designed after the Serpent item that @autox19 posted (post #3) or the above race body kit (small pic at top of this post). But it will fit with stock fenders. Matt could offer more details.

I have the tooling for the PBS front spoiler. It's not a splitter design. Buy the tool, or do a production run on it...
I posted this previously, probably last year, or the year before. With a picture, if I remember correctly.

Is the PBS spoiler something like these examples?

Yes, that’s Tom Reichenbach’s National Championhip winning car. This is the one I want, @Brayden_connolly

~Also curious as to what and how did Bob set up the chassis/suspension in this exxe..
The car is currently being restored, but it probably won't be raced anymore (outside of lapping days or maybe vintage (we have a G70 class for 70s cars in vintage). It'll be on display at Sam's Garage (the owner). Last I saw it looked like this about 10 years ago :(

The suspension is quite interesting! The strut towers are further inclined, I believe it uses inverted Bilstein struts, the rear control arms are completely custom (tubular, rod ends). The rear leading inboard pickup points are in the center of the car (there are is no coolant tunnel on the car, so the pickup points are located right there), the rearmost pickup points are also quite different. I know it has a centre steer rack and raised up, the front suspension is also custom - if I'm not mistaken, the control arms are quite long and pick up from the centre as well. Boig didn't follow the PBS build for this one. It was super competitive here but it was considerably lightened from FP (we have bracket racing here, the rules are a lot different than in the US - the hood/trunk/doors are all honeycomb core with the thinnest skin you can imagine :)

PBS full dog box with LSD.

When it's finally on display, I'll take some photos of the suspension. I never had a chance to before.
