For what I've got into this motor, I probably could have bought a new one!

Partial list: Bored .060 over, new high compression pistons, crank ground .010 under, block decked, .030 off the head, a little port cleaning, new bearings everywhere, new valves/guides.....yikes i'd forgotten how much.

I'll be starting assembly once I get done painting block and polishing up a few parts. Anyone have any good recommendations for block paint? I'm trying to decide between dark gray, silver, or bright ferrari-style red....

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->You can be PROUD of what you spent for the performance an fun yur gonna have...

This is a HOBBY... "ferget about it!" Have fun!.

I suggest "aluminum silver" with flat black accents. gives it the HIGH TECH Billet Look. Use 800 degree hot paint... with 1200 degree paint on the exhaust. Keep it to a TWO color theme...

Remove the insulation and hide all the crap on the fender wells and paint the bay body color!

If ya don't like the high tech look, then paint the entire engine body color.

These two themes I have seen gather the MOST looks and trophies at shows!

But no matter what... do it YOUR way and have fun! Don't worry about what I think or anyone else thinks!

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->On the silver/aluminum look, you should be able to get away with using an acrylic enamal on the engine as well. It is far enough away from the exhaust that you shouldn't have to worry about extreme high heat.

Sounds like you are going to have a great running car
