This car is nuts.
Noticed that at some point the interior lights were out, could have been around the time I did the engine, I'm not sure. In any event, I tried replacing the fuse at the same time I was dealing with the central locking / no tailgate access issue, however it blew immediately, so obviously a dead short on that circuit. According to the manual, only interior lights on that circuit.
Searching online, I found this:
At least 2 people verified that cutting the red wire to the sensor resolved the issue, so I'll try that tomorrow.
