1409 Progress

True Classic
This weekend I reinstalled the brake lines, new coolant tubes and radiator. Spent most of the week looking for long lost Lancia parts. Next are the brake calipers and reassemble the S2 brake pedal assembly.

I wish i was where you are at with my build. I have most of the parts. Now i need the time to do it! great progress!

Gas tank is in, fairly easy with sn empty engine compartment. New sending unit from Midwest.

Spent hours yesterday rebuilding the Scorpion/X1/9 pedal box. What a stupid design. Still not done. So many points of failure. Some engineer thought it was a good idea.

Heater box is in, European box with new core and valve. Car is actually built around the heater box and speedo cable. I was really toying with the idea of leaving this monstrous box out.

An idea is cut the green battery cable there on right side of photo now to install a racing battery cutoff switch either hidden using the existing hole in rear of glovebox (battery drain and theft prevention) or on dash or center console if racecar appearance is acceptable for battery drain and safety precaution.

With the heater box monstrosity done my next step would be tackling the wiring harness while its all exposed. Unwrapping the electrical tape to the engine compartment and removing the wires for electrical equipment you may no longer be using and removing that wiring back to fusebox. So much wiring spaghetti in that pic is gonna be fun.

Great progress!

If I wanted to remove the heater core in my car, would I need to pull the dash or just the center stack/console? My heater core is presumed to need a re-core. Seemed like a big job, so we took the easy way out and bypassed for now.

All the wiring has been minimized, all the AC, power windows and emission wiring has been removed. The only thing left that I would like to get rid of is thr three fuses for the headlight motor. Since the car still has the pop up lights, its needed.
There is s battery cutoff at the battery.
Thanks for the suggestions

Supposedly you can remove the core by taking the center console out and splitting the heater box in half. I can not imagine there is room but the manual says it’s possible. Pulling the dash is scary as it cracks as you are looking at it not to mention handling it

I was told the scorpion heater core is the same as the 131. would have to verify first of course

Today I started on the face. Took forever, Montecarlos must be so much easier. No motor, no rods, etc.

I have to say, the Scorpion face has really grown on me. I had been planning a quad-headlight conversion with a set of Beta Zagato lights, but I think I'm going to stay stock.

Great work you're doing, keep it up!

I always liked the Scorpion pop up lights, but only with Monte bumpers. I would love to do a Monte face but the parts are crazy expensive. The only other conversion I might think of is this, A Scorp with BMW 740 lights behind plexiglass, kinda goes
