don't want to end up on the highlight reel at 10,
Mercedes no longer makes the fuel pump I need for my 2002 C230K. The current part has only changed by what seems to be a 4 boxed pin connector instead of the previous 4 in a straight line connector.
To upgrade I would need to purchase both driver and passenger in tank fuel pumps/ sender. Cost 600. I don't need the sending side. Changing the connection style seems to only be to get you to buy both parts.
There are only 4 coNnections to make. Is there any risk in using correct sized female connectors to attach to this new connector? All connections are submerged in the fuel tank. The old pump had submerged connections with no apperance of gasproofing.
Am I missing something here? Why don't I just securely tap into the new pumps molex connections. Heck the connections are even spaded males. There is power, ground and two float level wires
