Hello all, new to the forum. Well, its been about 15 plus years so reintroduction I guess. My name is Trevor Fry, I believe my Dad Brad is still an active member on the forum, he has a great ‘82 I believe that was Mark Plaias (spellcheck) old car. I live in Sacramento, Ca. and im parting ways unfortunately with my 76 x. Just moved and the wife says the car cant come … it’s been parked and non-op on the side of our old home for over 10 years (2008 last registered i believe). Body is fairly straight with some rust in the usual places (front and rear spoiler, front right fender, passenger door jam) nothing i dont think could be resolved fairly easily. It ran great before it was parked, strong motor and transmission. Reason for it being shelved originally was it needed a complete brake job. Ill have to check mileage, not sure on that. Now before being started again it would need said brake job new timing belt, plugs and hoses, oil and all fluids. Car was repainted red over the original orange color back in 2002 or so and is pretty faded and weather worn. Seats were reupholstered in about 2008 I believe and are still in great shape. Replaced steel wheels with Bertone “tron” style from an 86 (all center caps intact) Completely unsure of what would be reasonable value so all offers would be considered. Asking $1000 obo, guessing worst case someone could have a great parts car! Car is located in Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 (about 15 minutes East of Sacramento). Would need to be towed/trailored out. Original title is included.Car was originally purchased by my Dad for me as my first car from a gentleman in Santa Cruz CA. And was maintained during its life there by Chris Obert at his shop. Hate to see it go but i just dont have the space, im sure I’ll eventually be on the hunt for another X when space/money allows. Love these little cars. 700DEC4F-CC90-41B4-98F3-D3B91FA75C4C.jpeg

Hi Trevor,

You need to add an asking price to your post. It is a FS&W forum requirement. Thanks and good luck with the sale.

Oops, ok thanks… wasn’t sure what I should ask so I was hoping for some feedback…But price included now

Smoke'n-ass deal. I'm appalled at the trash guys will fix, especially in the rust belt of the US and anyplace in Europe. This would be a Godsend for those guys. A few dicey spots, but a car without a swiss-cheese windshield frame and will likely run with fresh gas and an oil change? I'll be shocked if someone from a non-smog state doesn't snap this up most rickey-tick.

If it were an EFI 1500, I'd already be on my way there. A steal even if the engine is shot.

So why not convert it? The FI is effectively a stand alone system. There have been a fair number of 1500 engines floating around or get one built. It would be in your price range

Because I want a car I can drive. I have enough projects already. I want an EFI 1500 from '80-82.

Car is sold, i’ll miss it and will always regret letting it sit as long as I did…. Definitely not my last time owning an X. Thanks for the opportunity of having it here on the forum, cheers all

Sorry your wife couldn’t see a way forward for your car. My cars sat for most of the years our kids were growing up and relatively recently I have started using and working on them again.

Hope you can have another someday.
