The cars will be imported by GM. ( Pitty, should have been FORD.)I guess Lancia and GM have hooked up and are doing projects in South America. This is COOL!!!.

but I'd love a new Fiat! I'll never forget the little blue '99 Bravo we drove in England, not an X1/9, but a great car in its own respect, and revs/drives like a Fiat should, even if it is front-wheel drive...
I'll tell you one thing - if Fiat/Bertone would ever produce another mid-engined sports car, even if it weren't "successor to the X", I'd definitely be interested in checking that out.
Of course, to me, the ultimate would be if they were to do a modernised car based on the heritage of the X1/9 (even if they called it something else, for obvious marketing reasons in NA!) but I'm not holding my breath on that dream
On a side note, I would be especially interested in them offering some of Fiat's new alternative-fuel vehicles here in the USA. That would be very cool, a natural gas Brava or a hybrid electric Barchetta, yeah!
No matter what it is, I will be right there at the showroom doors waiting to see what they bring us first! Of course, the one bit that is still in the air is whether Alfa Romeo sales will go well, because (from what I understand, having watched the Turin HQ press conference about the merger, via web) all of whether Fiat and Lancia come back to NA is currently hinged upon whether Alfa Romeo's new car sales will be good or bad here.
Let's all go buy new Alfas!! Then when Fiat shows up, you can trade in on a new Coupe or Barchetta!
