Disassembled for seal and bushing inspection/replacement.
Notice the bearing area on the shafts.
Both shafts mic'd out to three places....indentical ! Kudos go out to FIATS centerless grinding and heat treatment processes.
This holder also doubles as the throw-out bearing guide.
The bush drive is EASY. However the seal removal is quite the opposite
FIAT 850
I found the wear to be negligible after 40 years of on and off use. However the seal is a little stiff and not resilient as new. It warranted replacement. The risk ? Oil will allow to weep into the clutch assembly from the transmission. Sliding clutch - not good. Low transmission oil level - not good. lol There WAS evidence of slight weeping into the bell housing already started.
The new BRONZE 660 bushing also enjoys now a more comfortable fit.
