Although I suspect that 20K is just the entry fee.....
"the engine need to be disassembled and gone over as it has been sitting for approx 15 years" is another 10-15K right there, and god only knows what the transmission might need. This project is probably closer to 50K all-in than 20K (but there's a wide error bar).

This is going to cost $$$$$$... engine gasket set, about $400 and there will be a lot more parts needed to put this all back together.

I had many opportunities to own an Italian exotic, entrance cost was low, parts and service cost are IMO excessive. Regardless, every car enthusiast needs to spend some time in these cars, they are great fun and such a pleasure in many ways...more than just going "fast".
