Ally announced as finance partner for USA Fiat

Ally Financial

GM, Chrysler, and Ally Financial. What do they have in common?

The US government has a big interest in all three. I recognized the name because Ally took over my GMAC money market a while back. Not that it should matter on your car loan I guess, just sayin'. :)

Yeah, Ally is just a rebranding of GMAC. So far both GMAC and Ally have been good. I see no problem in this, I think at this stage Ally is a very sound bank for Fiat to use for financing.

it is really no big deal--there is no more Chrysler Financial--they went away during the bankruptcies. It is handy for Ally to step in. They are already the primary financier for Chrysler dealerships (as well as GM). They finance just about any brand--including Toyota and others--at the facility, floor plan, and consumer level.

GMAC, now Ally...

took over the Chrysler Finance Corp. All of the existing accounts were transitioned to GMAC. That had a big part of the re-branding to Ally. Also keep in mind GM sold off GMAC.

GMAC/Ally has been my customer for over 20 years in I.T. I work for Hewlett-Packard now, but was EDS for about 19 years before HP bought us.
