II have attached a red wire to the positve terminal and ran the wire through the firewall. My question is.........

Can I attach the new brown wire to any empty socket like the picture below?

YES, is the answer, but just what the hell are you doing?

If you are saying you are using the fuse panel and want to use a spare position to fuse the BWM wire you are running, sure, go ahead. Then run a wire from the fuse to the brown wire on the ignition switch or its connector.
