cam gear on 1500 SOHC

should the gear for a 1500 have a lip on the inside? Can a no lip gear work?

I believe it's the 1300 that has a cam wheel with guard, the 1500 hasn't, it has the guard on a other wheel.

Gear orientations

1300s used:

Wide crank pulley with no lip
Steel or resin aux shaft pulley with lip on the front-side
Steel or resin cam shaft pulley with lip on the backside.

1500s used:

Narrow crank pulley with back-side lip - This is the main alignment method on 1500s.
Steel or resin aux shaft pulley with no lip
Steel cam shaft pulley with no lip
