Door Card top trim

What have people done to replace the plastic trim at the top of the door cards? Mine are missing and someone tried replacing it with some rubber off something else. I could try making it in aluminum but I have nothing to pattern it off of. Monte Hospital doesn't make it. What have you done?
 
Mine are both missing - I will be looking for a solution as well - or maybe come up with something....did the originals have any felt or flocking on the glass side ?
 
Didn't someone post a thread about replacing the complete with material sources just a couple of weeks ago?
 
That trim was a poor design. It was a relatively rigid piece of plastic that buckled at the upswing near the quarter window.
On a ‘77 I restored some 30 years ago I used a belt line weatherstrip similar to what’s on the X1/9 and spider. Below is a poor quality photo where you can just make it out.

I just looked at Matt's site and the trim doesn't really look like that. What is that picture from?
