3 weeks away...

I hope we have a good Xweb turnout. This year is on Easter so it may be tough, but it could also be a fun alternative to traditional Easter events.

If you do plan to show your car, be sure to register beforehand to save money and time.

Use this form to register by mail:
http://www.allitaliancarshow.com/regist_form.pdf

Or go here and include the form info to register via paypal

I'm registered, are you?

Not very many pre-registrations in so far, so I added mine to the pile. I downloaded the PDF, filled it in using Preview and emailed it in, and paid via paypal. Took all of 2 minutes.

The forecast at this point is iffy, but it always is.

Scorpion preparations for the show may include wheel re-paint, engine lid re-paint among other things. :eek:mg:

I'll be there with 3 or 4 other X heads

Not very many pre-registrations in so far, so I added mine to the pile.

Registered my two X1/9's. My 81 will be there for sure, and likely my Dad will drive the 79 Rat X as well (as long as he can sort an issue or 2 before then).

Will have 3 or 4 Xhead friends joining as well. Looking forward to seeing Greg and some of the other forum members I've met at various gatherings.

Great turnout!

We had a great car show thanks to everyone who came. Xweb was well represented with at least 5 X's and even more Xweb members.

I left at around 6:30 AM and picked up my young friend and fellow car enthusiast and headed north. When we arrived shortly before 8AM, many cars were already there. At first I was the only Lancia.

The Fiat class was won by this couple; he gave her the car at the show and also opened the trunk to reveal his marriage proposal. She accepted. Congratulations to Justin and Crystal, hopefully they join FEN.

Awesome post....

I'll take one of each please! Love that Autobianchi Bianchina, but the marriage proposal is clearly "best in show". What a great day you all must have had. I'm a little jealous, but I spent the afternoon with my bride at Liberty Park, there and back in Louis (1983 X1/9), so pretty great here in Salt Lake City too.

What a great turnout! Thanks for posting...

And some great cars!

Its great that you share your enthusiasm with the kids as well... I try to that when I can also. Here is a shot from a year ago (or so) with my granddaughter Piper. Taking her with me makes for a great time as folks encourage her to hop into their cars... I think you can see why!

Hot Rod Magazine and a few others always run an ad that says: "Take a Kid to a Car Show..." as if this "hobby" really needs some promotion! HA!

By the very few responses here... I think it just goes to emphasize my point that more folks would see and appreciate these EVENTS if they were not relegated to this forum... but included in the DF section.

I'm no better as I rarely come here myself... But thanks for posting the pictures of youse guys and going to all the trouble to label the photos!

Tony!

If that's your GRAND daughter then you must be getting on in years! Glad she likes to attend shows with you.

You would think that the car hobby wouldn't need promotion, but in general I think it's on the wane. As has been observed in the media, kids today seem to be less interested in cars, driving, and their driver's license. In my youth it was the one way to be sure to get some freedom and mobility in our car-centric country.

So I'm glad that younger generations can make do without driving as much in general, but also wonder what will happen when they have need of the troubleshooting and hands-on wrenching skills that they could develop in the car hobby in some other part of life, like fixing a bike.

I've noticed that kids today, an I mean 10-20 years old, seem less willing to try to do stuff. There seems to be less desire to try stuff out, and maybe fail or have to struggle. My own kid is reluctant to do things unless she's fairly certain of success.

30 years of tinkering with cars means I have lots of experience but it came at a price of trying and failing a lot. I replaced my Scirocco head numerous times due to a timing error on my part. Expensive lesson. But one I remember.

How's THAT for going off topic! Take care.
