The car is so loud in the video, was this car designed for track use only?

From Article:
Designed and built by Pininfarina in 1969, the 2000 Scorpione is based on the Abarth 2000 Sport Spider SE and features a 2.0-liter DOHC petrol engine with 220 bhp (164 kW) at 8,700 rpm. Thanks to its low air resistance and only 670 kg (1,676 lbs) weight, the Italian coupe is able to hit 275 km/h (170 mph).

To the best of my knowledge it was a one off show car and never raced and barely driven.

It presaged a Ferarri show car by Pinninfarina

Both of these cars were a turning point at Pinninfarina from the curvaceous smoothly flowing forms to sculpted volumetric forms with a strong geometric approach. Giorgetto Giugiaro effectively started this change with some of his work at Ghia and early Italdesign exercises shown in 1968.

This led to work by many of his competitors which reached production such as the 365 Daytona Coupe, Countach, Berlinetta Boxster and of course our own X1/9. A very interesting and pivotal time for automotive design.
