1979 Fiat X1/9 Bertone 5speed. This car gets great gas mileage and is a blast to drive. The top is removable and stores under the hood. The mileage is 82,000. We have put new tires, rotors, disc brake pads all around. It has had wheel alignment. New battery, alternator, alternator belt, timing belt, fuel pump, fuel filter. The tank has been boiled and coated. Too much to list. If it needed it we have done it. All it needs now is some paint and it wont take much of that.
Call (8one2)568-620six for details and directions.

3Gc3F43Mb5Ea5K85Fad2h4ef71dc0d9331558.jpg

Here is a 1980.5 Fiat X1/9. It was purchased from Tehachapi, California in 2010 after sitting in a mechanic's yard for an unknown time. The interior, trim, and any extra weight has been removed in the infancy of a race car project. Its a nearly rust-free car, the battery box, an underside section, and the rear trunk had some pitting and was sanded and I applied Rust Destroyer rust converting paint. It sports the original spec California 1.5L EFI engine, converted to Megasquirt V3 with Ford's EDIS-4 igniition system. The engine was tuned somewhat (all logs and tunes are included). There are tons of parts taken off the vehicle, and a number of performance parts included. This would make a great start for an X1/9 autocross, road race, 24 Hours of LeMons (its original intent), or Chumpcar vehicle. It ran until the oil pump gear disconnected from the oil pump at idle, seizing the engine. Its likely a new engine should be sourced, I have not dismantled the engine or drained the oil to see which bearings are damaged. The targa top is included. The car rolls fine and has about 3 large tubs of parts. ALL window glass is included.

Many new parts were installed, included a conversion to press in front wheel studs, front brake pads, used front brake rotors, late-model caliper shims, new brake hoses all around. There are some New in box cables for the trunk and engine compartment latches, as well as newer door handles and window cranks. Used strut tops were sourced from Vick Auto and installed on all four corners.

Interior seems to be all there minus the carpet and a few small parts that were missing.

Spares included:
4 speed gearbox from a 1974 model, rust damaged internals (dismantled)
Driver side axle from 1974 X1/9 (4spd)
Passenger side axle from a 1974 (4spd)
Pacesetter-style 4 to 1 exhaust header.
Megasquirt Wiring harness with Ford EDIS ignition control
Cheap coilover sleeves are installed

Sold with a Bill of Sale from owner.

Did anyone ever see it in person? I've been pondering driving an X for a while now, and I just saw the Autotrader ad this week.

It seems to be gone (CL & AT ads both down now), so I guess this is mostly academic...
