The more commonly available SAE 90W GL-2 can be found in quart bottles in just about any automotive supply store, but not so for the correct oil.
Some years ago, I special ordered a 5 gallon pail from a cooperative local autoparts store. It has been handy as you can get 3 or 4 changes out of a single bucket. Since I bought that bucket, I have not seen an alternate source, except for the usual suppliers (Vicks and International) have been repackaging the material in gallon lots. Certainly what they offer is acceptable. But if you are like me, you may want a 5 gallon lot to serve your needs.
Today I spent a bit of time carousing through a nearby "Quality Farm & Country" store and found 5 gallon buckets of the SAE 90W GL-1 for sale for $29.00. The bucket was marked as noted above, but it also had large type on the label that indicates the oil is "Ford Tractor Transmission Oil". This may assist you in finding a source for the proper specified gear oil.
If you happen to live in an area with some agriculture (as I do in the extended suburbs of Philadelphia) you may find similar stores as "Quality Farm and Country". If the store is focused on agricultural supplies, there is a good chance they have or can easily get the SAE 90W GL-1! And don't forget, it was the specified material for Ford Tractors!
