it looks like a choice between haircuts to me.

There was the actual verified fact that Dukakis created three times as many jobs in Mass. as Romney. So let's get him to run, he sounds like a miracle man:dance::dance::dance:

What a couple of mediocrities:(:( can the GOP really do no better?
How long before Perry has to come up with something besides is lame 'Texas Miracle' routine. It's wearing thin and the longer it's around the more holes are going to be poked in it.

On the other hand, and while those with only marginal claims to creating economic success are asserting their rights to be President - under the stewardship of Barack Obama our exports have just reached a record level, congratulation Mr. President!!! (guess he must have been talking to Dukakis)

American manufacturers sold more cars, airplanes and industrial machinery in foreign markets in July, sending exports to an all-time high and pushing the trade deficit down to its lowest level in three months, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

It's the Chinese, God Bless 'em, they love those Buicks:laugh:

Isn't that the truth?!

What do they see in them I wonder:hmm::hmm:
Why not Caddys or Lincolns? Maybe they like being old before their time-veneration for the elderly or something-or maybe it's just the great rebates:laugh:

Some really interesting numbers...

in the link accessed by clicking on the first paragraph. Lots of stuff in there to chew on.
The bottom line though is that we are,at very best, treading water on the GDP/head front. Growth at maybe 1% in real terms for GDP is just about equaled by the population growth rate at about .97% . Even though this is slow by our standards we are still growing the fastest of any western industrial country. That's good as against the problems Britain, Germany and, especially, Japan are facing with no or negative pop. growth and an aging workforce. On the other hand it means what growth there is tends to be absorbed completely and this leads to the 'real Texas Miracle' of economic growth being stuck at a low per capita level but growing overall simply by population growth-low wages, poor services, lousy education and all the rest that comes from lack of excess GDP and investment in human capital.
