How free flowing is your exaust?

This may seem like an odd question but has anyone ever stood behind their car and measured how far back you can feel your exaust? As it stands, I can be a full 5 to 6 feet behind the exaust pipe and the pressure is still strong enough to make my pant legs flutter.

That seems a little odd to me. The exaust system on the car is as follows:

4-1 exaust manifold into downpipe into magnaflow muffler out to 2.5 inch tail pipe.

Not unusual. The output from the free-flow exhaust on my '76 was pretty powerful, even several feet away from the tip. Same with the one on the ///M3. Both cars are known for needing a lot of silencer to keep them quiet.

Quiet you sya? HA!

The wife can hear me coming home from a two and a half blocks away! Still haven't figured out how to keep the car under 5000 rpm!

Hopefully she uses that as a cue to meet you at the door with a drink.

With a little motor you've got no choice but to rev it. Count yourself lucky-- my stock '85 quits pulling around 5500, Tough to live with when you're used to RPM and power.

Note to self: get back to work porting that Euro head!!!
