How to cut up a shell?

I'm done pulling everything off a '77 parts car (see my post over in FS&W), so now all that is left is the unibody shell.

I'd like to cut the shell up into more manageable pieces. Is this a job for a Sawzall, or do I get to buy some more tools?

elec saw zall with 15 long top quality metal blades

10-15 good quality metal long blades with an electric saw zall
sledge hammer, pry bar and your good to go.

Not recommended but,,,

I remember some 25 years ago some local yahoos at a very basic scrap yard used to do it with an axe. Yup, kind of slow, and hard on the axe, but got er done....:mallet: No it was not me. :)

Ask Jiminy D to pull up Bob Brown's video...

Maybe not the best way... but they sure had some fun...

Then there is this method of hauling it...

Maybe you should make a trailer?

I am trying to talk Matt...

...into letting us make a barbecue trailer out of one for the shop. We cook out a lot in the summer at Midwest-Bayless!

Sweet

Give it a try. I was thinking it might make a great way for autoX folks to haul a set of tires/wheels and tools to track day. Or maybe just a big beer cooler. :)

That trailer loooks cool. But I would have removed the window, looks like it would catch alot of air. Sawzall is the way to go. Just finished an integra. Cut the parts small enough to carry and set them in the drive way. Every trash day this ol man comes arond and takes all my scrap metal. I remember a couple times filling his truck up with a jag I scrapped out. He is very grateful, and I dont have to haul it anywhere.

Trailer sounds like a cool project!

I used an axe to cut out a Ford Capri back in 1981, and put the pieces out for the bulk pickup. Wouldn't do that again at my age!
