HP brake shoes for 128?

True Classic
Assembling brakes for the 128 and while high performance front brake pads are no problem to get, what are folks doing for rear brake shoes with high performance street rating?

Given how little work rear brakes do on a FWD car, you would be hard pressed to need anything more than what a standard set of shoes would offer.

Easy!

Just add this! http://xwebforums.com/forum/index.php?threads/26283/

You used to be able to find Ferodo "performance" brake shoes for the Fiat 850/128 cars fairly easily & at decent prices on eBay.uk, but I haven't looked in quite a while. NOT asbestos-free items, so buyer be warned (might also be why they're harder to find nowadays).

Sime Fiat Power has "A-21 Set of 4 racing brake shoes d-655 for Fiat 128/Yugo" listed on their website, but no photos or other description/price info listed. http://simefiatpower.tripod.com/

You could also take a used set of 850/128 shoes to a performance clutch/brake lining shop & have them re-line the shoes with your choice of compound.

Thanks guys

It did occur to me that given that the brake drums are the size of half/dollars, that super duper brake shoes are not really needed. Much like radiator shops and machine shops, I bet relining shops are far and few between although I'm sure vintage racers probably know where to go.

I had the rear disc conversion on my street/trackday 128 sedan and that was some major overkill!

Given that the wagon has power brakes, which seems rather silly for such a light car, I'll start with stock shoes on the back and nice performance pads on the front and see how that works.
