A few months back, Lowes had an introductory sale at $9.99 each for a 45 watt equivalent bulb (with 450 lumens output). I snatched up four of them. So far, so good, and they dim. The same bulb is now back up to $15.98.

even at $15 instead of $9 they start to make sense. I have some lights in areas that are a PITA to get to, so the longer the bulb life the better. Do they come on slowly like CFL bulbs?
