Re: Caps

I am in need of 4 wheel center caps for mag/alloy wheels for my 1979 Fiat X19 Bertone.

We'd need to know/see what alloy wheels you have in order to know what centercaps you need. There are various model alloy wheels with different size caps.

I am not 100 % positive, but I believe the caps are different from the ones that fit the stock steel wheels that also take the beauty rings.

That would depend on the alloy wheel - some of them can use the same (smaller) type cap as the steel wheels.

The back of the wheels have the following stamped on them:
FIAT-ROOSEVELT MOTORS INC. P/N 9055 A.R.E.
I am including pic.'s

I suspect you have the part number wrong, those wheels should have 9005 on them.
They are also very dangerous, the spoke cracks where the rim attaches. The rim can actually come off the spokes!
I would only use them as a static display.
There was originally a specific cap retained on the back side by a screw & a big washer. it was hard to get the screw tight, & the caps always fell off.
Go to your local hardware store. You'll find a plug for a cyclone fence post fits right into that hole, & is easy to glue in.
