I have a few X1/9 toy cars. Nothing in comparison to the collections of *some* folks I have met, but fair enough to keep me happy. I can't have too many or else I won't have room for the real ones!
There are all kinds of X miniatures out there. Some are even still being made (in limited numbers) overseas.
When you say plastic, are you meaning an actual, glue-it-together-and-paint-it plastic model? If so, there are 2 that I am aware of offhand, very similar to each other because they are made from the same mold...
One I am looking at right now: it was made in the '70s by Bandai. It is a red plastic 1/20th scale X1/9 model, I was fortunate enough to find this one not assembled. Of course I know why: all the instructions are in Japanese!
This car came with a sheet of decals (Fiat, Abarth, X1/9, Bertone logos and a set of Japanese license plates) and two sets of parts. You could assemble it as a stock '74 X, or use the extra board of parts instead to build it up as an Abarth X1/9...
The other model I do not have, but I have a friend in Bellevue, Wa. (are you reading this, my lurking friend??) who does. It was made by a company called Entex. It looks to be from exactly the same body mold as the Bandai car, except the injection quality looks slightly less precise. Oh, and it was green plastic instead of red.
So there you have it. If you can locate one for under $100 consider yourself lucky! -Mac.

and proportionately correct kit. It is a joy to

I bought one. OK, now I've looked at it, fondled
it a little, but I'd rather put the money into
a real X. I'd sell it for what I paid, includes
shipping in US: $105 Never assembled or painted,

I have a few X1/9 toy cars. Nothing in comparison to the collections of *some* folks I have met, but fair enough to keep me happy. I can't have too many or else I won't have room for the real ones!
There are all kinds of X miniatures out there. Some are even still being made (in limited numbers) overseas.
When you say plastic, are you meaning an actual, glue-it-together-and-paint-it plastic model? If so, there are 2 that I am aware of offhand, very similar to each other because they are made from the same mold...
One I am looking at right now: it was made in the '70s by Bandai. It is a red plastic 1/20th scale X1/9 model, I was fortunate enough to find this one not assembled. Of course I know why: all the instructions are in Japanese!
This car came with a sheet of decals (Fiat, Abarth, X1/9, Bertone logos and a set of Japanese license plates) and two sets of parts. You could assemble it as a stock '74 X, or use the extra board of parts instead to build it up as an Abarth X1/9...
The other model I do not have, but I have a friend in Bellevue, Wa. (are you reading this, my lurking friend??) who does. It was made by a company called Entex. It looks to be from exactly the same body mold as the Bandai car, except the injection quality looks slightly less precise. Oh, and it was green plastic instead of red.
So there you have it. If you can locate one for under $100 consider yourself lucky! -Mac.

it a little, but I'd rather put the money into
