My take on the VW rad install

karhawk

True Classic
I got a radiator from a 89 rabbit at the JY, I cut the bottom and top brackets off the Fiat rad. and glued them on to the top and bottom of the rabbit radiator with epoxy and 3M 5200 glue/caulk after trimming the ends with a die grinder, now I can utilize the original lower mounting points. The thermo switch from the Fiat bolts on the VW rad.
I used a pusher fan from a peugeot 505 turbo made in ITALY! The grill is a little tight but fits. I had some old handicap bars laying around so I cut a 16" piece and used that for a splice. I welded on nuts and spacers for the lower bracket to chassis fitting, maybe this radiator was a little taller then some of the Rabbit ones out there.
$25 for the radiator, $15 for the fan and the hoses came with the car,
