Nice Swedish Restomod

Ok I am a Swede and maybe a little bit biased but I think this is one of the nicest restomods on the market. It is made from the only(?) beautiful car manufactured by Volvo. Cyan really succeeded to keep the beautiful shapes and combine it with modern performance. - It is really timeless. Just like the X1/9 it deserves a stronger engine and this 420hp engine is really rev willing compared to the original 1800 with redline at 6k rpm.
You need an original P1800 in descent condition and lots of $$$ to have one. Probably not worth it.

Just from a styling standpoint that car is absolutely stunning.
I'd love to see what that firm could do with a 12 Spider.

When I was a kid I loved that design from the first time I saw it on the 60's TV show The Saint.
Wanted one even after I heard stories that they were heavy and handled like crap.
The one shown refreshed an old love affair.

The "Cyan" Volvo restomod is one of the examples noted in a article I posted previously (in the "A couple of interesting articles" thread). There are also a few other examples of similar "restomod" vehicles offered by specialist companies that I really like, despite the fact I'd never be able to afford any of them. Unfortunately in the US the focus is on restomodding American muscle cars, so we don't get many great Euro cars like this (the Singer Porsches are one exception). Shame because vehicles of this sort really inspires me to build my own version of restomod on the cars I love, so I'd like to see/experience more of them in person.

The first sports car I ever rode in was a P1800. My cousin had just graduated college in 1964 and bought a new one. By the time he came to visit us with it, he had put in a cam, dual Webers, and a high performance exhaust. It felt pretty quick to me when we went for a ride.

Speaking of Volvos, I was hoping to get the process started at putting my T5R back on the road this summer. Looks like it will be very late summer at the earliest.

I do like the Cyan restomod. Similar to vintage lines but refined in a good way. As a teen, I preferred MGB's to the 1800 - I just preferred the handling & convertible. Like Dragonsgate, I also first became acquainted with the car in the English TV show "The Saint".
If I had a stable of cars, the Cyan would be one I'd like to own.

The B18 and B20 engines in Amazon, P1800, 142 etc were very popular in Sweden. They were quite easy to tune and performed pretty well but the fuel consumption was terrible. Different kits was available (probably still is) and was very popular during the 70's. If you are interested to read more (English) click the link below

My first Volvo after I moved to the US was a '74 142 (k-jet). I got the last new B20F long block in the US from Volvo in 1984.

My favorite Volvo was my 1985 245TI (circa '88)- there's an 1800 and an 1800ES in the background here

I've had my '70 Volvo 140 wagon since 1989, third owner.
Couldn't bring myself to sell it, even though I moved this past summer.
It's too simple to let go of, nothing computerized.
Downdraft Weber carb conversion, slightly larger FI exhaust, swaybars, overload springs and gas shocks.
