I was tearing the old carpet out of the '74 X a few minutes ago when I noticed the sheetmetal at the back of both driver side rails was torn/pushed down. I assume this is due to a large person plopping into the driver seat.

It looks like an easy fix and an opportunity to add a little reinforcement to that area. Never had this happen before. No rust in that area. Anyone else?

That they were torn/pushed back when the car was rear-ended? :blackeye:

I hope not but that's a possibility I would look at.

It gets better..............

There are tears at both ends of both seat rails. No sign of damage anywhere on the car. I'm in the process of uploading a short video at the moment.

I'll start a new thread when it's complete.
