Once upon a time I managed to post pics. That was the time of the old Imageshack, primitive, old fashion, ugly and slow, AND IT WORKED.
Now it's gone. New, improved, better, faster...and gone.
Could someone teach an old fart like me how to post pics?
I have some very exciting ones to share..
PLEASE, save the earth.
 
Right click on the image and click on "copy image URL" in the drop down box. Then paste that into your post with "
after it. like this:


HTML: 
[img]http://xwebforums.org/images/worksf.gif[/img]

Which will look like this:

worksf.gif


This only works with picture already stored online of course.
Ignore the "HTML code" thing. I couldn't remember how to display vb code in plain text any other way.
 
Herzel! ImageShack lives!

Just go here and bookmark this address: http://img230.imageshack.us/

Click on the "Media Upload" button at the top left of the screen.
Have your pictures ready in a folder somewhere on your computer.
Click on "Browse" on the ImageShack Screen and find your picture, then click the "Upload Now" button

When your picture uploads, copy the LINK: to a blank browser window.
(It seems you have to do this step now because they want you to sign up. Ha!)
When you open the link in a new window, you can then COPY the DIRECT LINK into memory by
double-clicking the link with the left mouse button. Then right click (once) it's highlighted and select "copy".
and from there, you can paste in your posting thread on XWeb by clicking the
insertimage.gif
icon. Simple as that Herzel! Give it a shot.

Hey Herzel.....................!!

...........it took a bit of head-scratching and 'blue language' but following Bob's instructions - I was able to POST A PIC!!!
If I can do it, mate - so can you!! :thumbsup:

Posting - not so neat

Thanks Bob for the instructions. It sort of worked.
I followed your guide but got lost after UPLOAD. I couldn't "copy the link", didn't know how.
BTW I am using Netscape - Mozila Firefox for a browser.
Would be nice to have the pics pop up on the post rather then be directed to another place on the net.

To copy the link...

Double-click the link with the left mouse button.
Then right click (once) the highlighted link and select "copy".

Let me know if you can't sort out the rest.
 
Herzel, re-read the ImageShack lives post

I've clarified it a bit. Try it again. You might want to print the instruction so you can follow the steps.

OK, so I copied the LINK but where do I PASTE it to?
I have no blank browser page, there is always a GOOGLE start page .
It seems I am bothering you with NET 101 while I thought I am at the 103 level...

Bob, I clicked the Icon and pasted the link on to it, OKed and got a little square with a kind of blink on my Xweb post.
I tried to paste the link now and got what you see up here.
I know I am doing something stupidly wrong...
What now?
