Remover the right rear control arm to replace the bushings. Noted it had 5 shims per bushing 2 in front and 3 to the rear. The left side had only 2 and they were located on the front bushing at the front. Is this unusual?:wall:

To my understanding the shims are there to compinsate for the variance in the control arm/ body mount location.( Free play) What was taken out should be what is replaced for the same arm only. Should you change the arm then you will have to bolt it in place and check clearances to the body mounts with a feeler guage to determine how many shims must be put in and where.
The intent here is to have movement of the arm up and down but not to slide front to back along the bolts.
So if you are installing a different arm you may need more or less shims to limit the forward back movement.
