In redoing my rear suspension, am looking for replacements for the lock nuts on the control arms. The bolts are 14 x1.5 class 8, the nylock nuts are class 10.
I can only find class 10 nylocks in quantities of 100, and none at most of the suppliers. I like staying with the original design and using class 10 nuts, only I do not understand the reason for putting a class 10 nut on a class 8 bolt. Does anyone have insight on this?
I also have not been able to find the bolts with a long enough shoulder to avoid having a thread sitting on the bracket. Not a good idea in my book. Any sources? I will re-plate the original bolts as a last resort.
