Rim repair/restoration

True Classic
Anyone familiar with shops that do a good job at repairing/restoring rims? Someplace located in SoCal would be helpful.

I've got a set of CD30s I'm putting on my X, but I'd like to have my "phone dials" restored. I've managed to keep the Bertone center caps on and in good shape all these years.

So far I have just found this place, Tru-Wheel in North Hollywood.

Wheel prices

Expect $110 per wheel for repair work including painting. If only painting you might beat that.

!

If the wheels are bent, they need to be sent someplace that can true aluminum without destroying it.

If you just need them painted, ask any body shop or powder coat shop.

Speaking of wheel restoration,

Can a bent Cromodora Daytona be straightened ? The restoration place around here said there was nothing they could do with it since it wasn't aluminum. Were all Daytonas magnesium alloy? Mine are the 14" version.

They can be fixed...

....we have a company in Columbus, Ohio that has repaired many of my Daytonas (13's and 14's) over the years.

Yves... nicely done...

I gotta tell ya, I NEVER really liked those wheels but I came across a set with HTR100s installed for a price I could not refuse... mounted and balanced.

I tried everything to polish out the rims as I wanted a bit of BLING... and then ended up... (DON'T SHOOT ME...) modifying some 13 inch PLASTIC beauty rims and gluing them on!

Don't have a close up... but here are the results...

Tony,
it sure I will prefer Cromodora "Daytona" wheels but here in Quebec I never seen those wheels.

Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to crab a set at descend price.
Regards
Yves

Very impressive fix

Magnesium alloy tends to get brittle as it ages, straightening one must be an art!

I wonder how they do it?

I'm into LUST over the COMPOMOTIVE...

... traditional wheels, the Targas...

When I get/build me a Dallara one day... that's what it'll have!

EXACTLY!

I believe they make a 13 x 9 and possibly and 13 x 10 for the rear... and 13 x 7's would work great up front...
