After not having located one of those, I got lucky - inspiration struck while I was digging through a parts box. I found that 1300 X rear trunklid emblem, the finish was completely sun-baked (toasted!) and a little night-light bulb came on over my head `bzztztt' ...
I figured I had nothing to lose by painting it black! It really turned out nicer than I had expected. The downside is that it attaches to the dash differently than the stock one, so I would not be able to use it to do any faceless-disappearing-radio tricks - clever setup, by the way!

There are a couple of cool things about the '87 and '88 clusters, one of which is the BERTONE 'b' on the tach (love that!). The other cool thing is that it is illuminated in 'red-orange' not in 'blue-green'.
These clusters only came in '87 and '88.

You'd have to change them all (including fuel, charge, etc) since the font is different, and you wouldn't get the red-orange illumination since the illumination is part of the housing.

The late Bertone clusters are cool, I was in the process of acquiring one recently when the deal fell apart.
No biggie, they are less common around these parts, but they can be found - plus I really didn't need it anyway; I'd like to keep the stock Fiat cluster in my '80, although I would like to put the later Fiat 140 speedo in ( mine's the 85 mph version
) Even if that were the case, I would still just rather swap the whole cluster out.
The plexi & plastic pieces of the housing can be disassembled, but it is (in my opinion) a pain in the butt, and the piece can crack easily during the process. -Mac.

After not having located one of those, I got lucky - inspiration struck while I was digging through a parts box. I found that 1300 X rear trunklid emblem, the finish was completely sun-baked (toasted!) and a little night-light bulb came on over my head `bzztztt' ...
I figured I had nothing to lose by painting it black! It really turned out nicer than I had expected. The downside is that it attaches to the dash differently than the stock one, so I would not be able to use it to do any faceless-disappearing-radio tricks - clever setup, by the way!

There are a couple of cool things about the '87 and '88 clusters, one of which is the BERTONE 'b' on the tach (love that!). The other cool thing is that it is illuminated in 'red-orange' not in 'blue-green'.
These clusters only came in '87 and '88.

You'd have to change them all (including fuel, charge, etc) since the font is different, and you wouldn't get the red-orange illumination since the illumination is part of the housing.
Given that, it only takes 10 minutes to change the whole instrument panel and you're done...

The late Bertone clusters are cool, I was in the process of acquiring one recently when the deal fell apart.
No biggie, they are less common around these parts, but they can be found - plus I really didn't need it anyway; I'd like to keep the stock Fiat cluster in my '80, although I would like to put the later Fiat 140 speedo in ( mine's the 85 mph version
The plexi & plastic pieces of the housing can be disassembled, but it is (in my opinion) a pain in the butt, and the piece can crack easily during the process. -Mac.

I am wondering if he could make up a set of new "faces" for the gauges...may not be worth it, but I would love to have the later gauge font and "b" moniker on the tach but keep the green lights...let me know if this might be feasible! I can't imagine where you find a cluster from a later car - there were so few in the first place...
