Ulix has the Faza Stage II on his car; and they provide you with a very nice handling improvement.

However this big improvement has a cost, they are too stiff and you are bouncing all over the road except over mirror perfect pavement.

I know, because I had being using the same springs for several years (Am I getting older or what?)

Do you know the estimated rate for the Faza Stage II springs?

I am inquiring on this because after reading Jeff Zucker’s post regarding “Ground Control” coil over packages (with spring rates from 200-1000lbs).

Perhaps I can switch to the Eibach progressive rate, which are supposed to be softer until you compress them. Then you’ll have the firm setting when needed.

The Eibach’s most be a bit longer than the Faza Stage II’s but you should be able to compensate with the coil over adjustment.

Any suggestions here? And yes… we wanted all

I am now using stock springs cut one coil and they are surprisingly stiff, but provide a much better ride than the Fazas.

I hink that they, combined with a front swaybar make a very nice (and cheap) street suspension. I calculated the rates to be:
Stock (front/rear lbs/in)
125/155
Cut one coil (and bent down end)
165/195

Sorry, I never found out the rates of the Faza springs.

Yes my Faza springs are a pain (literally), but every time you take a winding road you forget all the pain, I really push the car in the turns and is always asking for more (except when is wet!)

The problem is that my X is my daily driver, last week for four days I drove some customers of mine in my wife’s Volvo wagon, I got used to the comfort and nice stereo.

Once I got back on the X, it took me less than ten minutes to remember why I love this car, It’s an extension of you

You really feel connected to the road (and to the potholes), that is why after reading Jeff’s note I thought “This may be the solution for my pains”…

Perhaps my X is my way to cope with mid life crisis!

The initial roll is too much for REALLY enthusiastic driving. One day (soon-ish, very -ish) I'll get around to fitting my faza stg 2 springs, but I don't have a road-legal car at the moment......but when I do I shall give a relatively objective opinion on the subject<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

for a set of these a number of years back for my 80.5 They provided some lowering, a little stiffening but were still reasonably compliant.

I think International may still sell them.
