Steering shake, SOLVED!

Some of you may have read an eariler post from me asking about the poiential cause of a very annoying steering shake/vibration I was having at speeds above 60mph. I finally took the car to a guy who has about 40yrs experience in front ends. After a test drive, he said it was either warped rims or rotors. Both are new on my scorp, but I had the old rotors put away so I installed two of them on the front and no more vibration! Checking the offending ones on a flat surface, I could see just the slightest daylight under one of them, indicating that it wasnt true. I had also noticed a slight amount of pulsing from the brake pedal, especially under light braking. Something to remember in the future. These stock rotors are thin, and it doesnt take much to warp them.

Yep...

This is why a shop would normally turn even a new rotor. But, our rotors are thin and if you do that there's not much left.
