Stray wire. Location?

After all the rummaging around the engine compartment I've come up with a stray Purp/Blk wire that looks like it lives on the positive side of the coil but I'm not sure. The wiring diagram in my Haynes book shows wires and components but does not show wire colors.

Can someone tell me if I'm correct?

Or at least on the '74 that I just looked at, there's a purple-black on te positive side of the coil.
