Next week is the Carmel/ Monterey car event. Who is going? Literally every auction house ( Mecum, Gooding, RM & Russo ) will have an auction over several weeks plus the very prestigious vintage race event will be held at Laguna Seca raceway plus the Pebble Beach concours for the high ticket cars and of course the Concorso Italian show on friday. There are many more events over about two weeks but these are the highlights for me anyway. Here is a link to the local paper write up.

Well. I think I have spent in access of 10,000 dollars going to those shows and events over the last 7 years.. I am sitting it out this year. I like the local SoCal shows. With Best of France and Italy, Dana Point Concourse, and a half dozen other interesting shows down here it is much less stress. It is after all a 400 mile drive up that way...and I cant seem to get away from those wineries on the way back.....(where most of that money went)...

I will be at the historic car races Saturday. I was hoping to try and get down to the Concourse Italiano but work is not cooperating. They are going to be honoring the Fiat 500.

Carmel review, Bertone's and one nice X

OK, Carmel and Montery were great as usual. Driving around, here is what could be seen on any street or curbside:

The vintage races were well attended by an incredible history of fine autos:

And the parking area had this very nice X 19 modified with a Japanese engine ( K-20 or K-16 ) and FULL under car metal panel for airflow, brake mods, coilover mods and general lightening.
