Throttle cable broke today (just when I got my car sorted out, nice weather, etc...). I hear it isn't that simple to replace, could an experienced soul show the pitfalls ? ('85 1500, carbureted)

I replaced my throttle cable last year (1987 car, EFI w/AC), and got some great tips from the forum gurus. You can check out the thread in the archives - it was around Sept./Oct of last year (though I recall that the last few posts in the thread got zapped in a server crash).
The hardest part of the job is attaching the new cable in the footwell, mainly because of the tight access. In my A/C car I found it necessary to remove the lower half of the heater cover and the heater core just to get my hands into the front of the center tunnel (very sharp edges in there).
Another possible pitfall - when you feed your new cable back from the parking brake area toward the spare tire compartment, make sure it's clear of the parking brake cables! (Don't ask how I know this)
