TIG welding in an X1/9

Any advice as far as disconnecting the battery or any of the fuel injection system, etc while TIG welding on the car? Got myself a neat little dead pedal that screws onto threaded posts that need to be welded.

They unplug -

Easily... Behind the passenger's seat in the spare tire area, unplug the ECU and engine compartment there's a plug in the electronic ignition module. Better safe than sorry...

If it's an FI car...

I would remove the ECU. You might also want to disconnect any amps or stereo heads you have in the car, although total removal is probably not necessary for those.

This would be especially important if your TIG welder has a HF (high frequency) arc starter. This sends a BIG shock through the workpiece, similar to a very strong static electricity shock.

I have Tig welded on my car.

All that I did was disconnect the battery terminal - post. I did use HF start to build my Stainless Steel Xhaust system. Fuel injection is Megasquirt and I did disconnect the ECU as well.
