[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Hi Bud,

you have a yellow 74? So do I. Do you drive yours?

I wouldn't buy parts locally unless you are in a real hurry.
Order from the vendors that specialize in Fiat parts. You will get the parts cheaper and keep the vendors in business.

If you are in a hurry, Europarts on Roosevelt might have them in stock at twice teh price, or see if your local car parts place can get them from tehir warehouse.

BTW, the tripodes have the reputation of lasting a long time. But I have had one come apart on my 77.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Always a pleasure to see new local owners pop up in here! Whereabouts in Seattle are you? Just curious.

Ulix is right, you should buy from a vendor if you want new. Check the list of links on the SeattleX1/9 website's linkpage ( http://www.seattlex19.org ) and call around for the best deal.

Hope to see you and your car sometime! Peace, Mac.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Hi Mac So I'm in Port Townsend and as soon as I get a chance to try it out I'll start looking for the new parts. Now stupid me. about the shims yes I'm sure which bolts go where and which shims go on which bolt but not sure which stack was forward and which ones were aft. Is there a simple way to align the rear suspension control arm and make the right adjustment. and after you've got the shims in one side whats the preferred method of fitting the big shim on the other side. Took it apart alone and didn't get a chgance to see where the various shims fell from. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

I think you should actually have more than one stack for fore & aft though, you should have 2 stacks for each bolt, one or more shims for the front of the fore, some for the rear of the fore, some for the front of the aft, and some for the rear of the aft. Does that make sense?

If we have anyone here who can explain a laymans' alignment job, go on, but all I can offer is to tell you what I did in that same situation: I guessed
happy.gif

I guessed what went where, because all of my neatly stacked shims got scooped into a pile by someone who shall remain nameless (not Holly) and put in one fat pile on top of the dryer in the shop

No way to know what went where. My solution? Finish the repairs, and just put it back together however it looked like it would be relatively even. Then, take it for its test drive, the maiden voyage right on down to the most trustworthy local alignment shop I could find

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->yep two stacks each bolt. I decided the next move is to put it together and see if the replacement tranny shifts through all 5 gears. 4+r and drive it. If I measure across the front of the tire in the center and the back of the tire in the center and the measurement is = it should track well enough to get it to a shop or if it feels right until the rubber is going away unevenly on the back tires. here's hopin'

I'll take a couple of digital photo's and post them so you'll have an idea of the 77 X 1/9 I'm talking about. I can hardly wait to try this beauty out.
So is there a good on line reference for webers? Ive got a (newer modle)than was on the other 1300's I have. It"s on the same manifold so I'm hoping it will be jetted at least close I'd like to replace the holly the PO installed??. Tomarrow if it doesn't rain I'll finish and actually drive one.
