It's such a critical piece, I don't know why you want one from a junkyard.
Speaking of junkyards, I got a "new" roof and finally have a clock that works, courtesy of my local junkyard. The car was a rusty mess, but the roof was perfect - the (expensive) weatherstripping, etc was in great condition, and it doesn't even need a respray. One thing is different tho - the new one doesn't have a headliner... but it doesn't appear to have been removed - is that normal?

This will enable you to adjust how far up the window can go. To test if this is your problem don't put the window quite all the way up and see if the door closes better.
You may be unlucky and have to remove the whole trim panel but the fix is the same.

I am 5'11" also and have no problems at all, but I did hear that late Bertone's had thinner seat squabs to create a little more headroom. Fact or fiction? I guess there are people out there (here) who know more than I would!
I like the headlining. With the roof on the car doesn't feel "drummy" at all - just quite cosy.

It's such a critical piece, I don't know why you want one from a junkyard.
Speaking of junkyards, I got a "new" roof and finally have a clock that works, courtesy of my local junkyard. The car was a rusty mess, but the roof was perfect - the (expensive) weatherstripping, etc was in great condition, and it doesn't even need a respray. One thing is different tho - the new one doesn't have a headliner... but it doesn't appear to have been removed - is that normal?

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->If you remove the door light you may be lucky enough to find the window height stopper which can be adjusted after loosening the locknut. This will enable you to adjust how far up the window can go. To test if this is your problem don't put the window quite all the way up and see if the door closes better.
You may be unlucky and have to remove the whole trim panel but the fix is the same.

My '78 1300 has no headlining but I have often thought that it would improve the inner appearance with a liner, and maybe help insulate from roadnoise a bit?? But I am 5ft 11ins and while my head clearance is OK at the mo I wonder if a headliner might restrict this too much. I am 5'11" also and have no problems at all, but I did hear that late Bertone's had thinner seat squabs to create a little more headroom. Fact or fiction? I guess there are people out there (here) who know more than I would!
I like the headlining. With the roof on the car doesn't feel "drummy" at all - just quite cosy.
