I have rebuilt the motor with 40 mm intake valves, ported and polished the head, mild cam and headers from PBW. My weber is mounted on a spider (I think) intake manifold. My problem - if I take the top off the Weber and pull out the two velocity(?) tubes - I have two sets - one 30 mm and one 26 mm- and put in the 26's it runs like crap. Then i pull over and put the 30's back in. It runs really great for a while untill I turn it off and start it a couple of times. Then it runs slower and has a pretty big flat spot below 3 grand until I do the same procedure all over again. The Weber did the exact same thing before I rebuilt the engine so i rebuilt the carb - same thing. Is there a power valve or something that is sticking? I blew out the carb with compressed air and set the float levels but no change. Anybody ever heard of something like this?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
