I'm using the Splitfires for more than 3 years in my X1/9. At first I noticed an increase in performance, but my guess is that was mostly caused by the swap from old plugs to fresh ones.
Never had any problems with them in 10 000 miles.

They are cheaper
They are just as good in my experience
They can be easily gapped by traditional means
They last longer than I ever need them to anyway
Yep, I have tried many kinds of plugs (tried Splitfires in my Prelude, only noticed the "new plug" difference like others have said, and they did not last as long)
My preference for the X is definitely the Bosch platinum single-electrode plugs. Cheap & widely available too. The +4s are a neat concept, Golden Lodge & NGK have done multi-electrode plugs for years, so the concept is sound enough IMHO...
BUT, I do not like the idea of not being able to gap the plug myself (as I always am saying, even a factory can screw up a gap setting!) and the main benefit of multi-electrode plugs is that if one of them is wrong or burns out, there are others.
Well, I have never seen any of my single-e Bosch plugs burn out of gap, ever, and I always end up replacing them in the course of regular maintenance long before they would wear out anyway. Just my 2¢ though
Whatever style you choose, I think the majority of folks lean toward Bosch as the plug maker of choice these days for the X -Mac.

I'm using the Splitfires for more than 3 years in my X1/9. At first I noticed an increase in performance, but my guess is that was mostly caused by the swap from old plugs to fresh ones.
Never had any problems with them in 10 000 miles.

They are cheaper
They are just as good in my experience
They can be easily gapped by traditional means
They last longer than I ever need them to anyway
Yep, I have tried many kinds of plugs (tried Splitfires in my Prelude, only noticed the "new plug" difference like others have said, and they did not last as long)
My preference for the X is definitely the Bosch platinum single-electrode plugs. Cheap & widely available too. The +4s are a neat concept, Golden Lodge & NGK have done multi-electrode plugs for years, so the concept is sound enough IMHO...
BUT, I do not like the idea of not being able to gap the plug myself (as I always am saying, even a factory can screw up a gap setting!) and the main benefit of multi-electrode plugs is that if one of them is wrong or burns out, there are others.
Well, I have never seen any of my single-e Bosch plugs burn out of gap, ever, and I always end up replacing them in the course of regular maintenance long before they would wear out anyway. Just my 2¢ though
Whatever style you choose, I think the majority of folks lean toward Bosch as the plug maker of choice these days for the X -Mac.

I don't see the advantage of multi-electrode plugs. It doesn't seem likely that you would get multiple sparks at the same time. Or that it would even be advantageous if you could.
