Where did the steering rack bushing go?

Finally traced the front end thumping noise down to a missing bushing on the passenger side of the steering rack. Did not fall out in little pieces when I pulled back the boot...where the heck did it go? Sadly I have to drive it this way to Carlisle tomorrow even though I have a complete spare rack.

Look for it at the end of the rack gear end, inside the rack boot. The bushing usually works it way free when the three tabs get loose. The part is dark gray plastic and they are prone to failing this way.
