I am looking for some experience and knowledge in the best place I know of. Has anyone installed aftermarket window lifts??
I am in final assembly of my 1983 X19 and have two faulty electric winders. The left one has a bad cable and the right has a bad motor. It seems these are tough to find so I am wondering if anyone has tested and installed any of the many aftermarket electric units? There are perhaps four or five made for the hot rod field and there are several O.E units that may work ( jeep, ford ). I am asking since I would like to skip the experimental phase an just get the right part up front.
Of course I guess I could install the old manual winder ( still available new) and a hand crank ( hole is in the panel) .
