X1/9 Front Bearing Lock Ring Tool Wanted

I can't remember if it's the front or rear...

But I found that a 4 inch square steel pipe fits well and engages 4 of the 8 "star points". I used a segment of pipe a few inches long and turned it with a giant pair of channel locks.

If I didn't have the pipe and channel locks laying around, it probably would have made more sense to source the proper tool. But I tend to have a lot of metal laying around from various projects.

Oops forgot this tool .... is for rear bearing, sorry false joy

Ralph,
I can lend you the tool, but I think the cost of shipping back and forth from Canada to United State can be prohibitive.
Let me know.
I have the tool and adapter 3/4 to 1/2

Thanks Chris for the info.

Anyone know if there a write up on this site on how to change the front bearings? Specifically do I need a press after I remove the nut?

Thanks,
Ralph

I have done a lot with a press, but they can also be pushed out with a big hammer. Problem is a hammer can easily damage something, so it's better to use the press.
