The center console is a little different than on non-A/C cars. Should the A/C be saved? Also, will the fan still work with A/C removed? It seems to me that the fan is part of the air con. controls. If anyone has experience with this, let me know. I also plan to replace my timing belt in the near future, and I hear that the process is different for A/C cars. How is it different? IF YOU STILL HAVE THE LONG WATER PUMP WITH THE PULLEY ON THE LEFT, YOU CAN REPLACE IT WITH THE NON-AIR ASSEMBLY, BUT YOU NEED THE HOUSING AND THE LONG WATER TUBE FROM A NON-AIR CAR.
Also, I'm told that A/C is fairly rare on 1300's. The center console is a little different than
on non-A/C cars. Should the A/C be saved?

I DID IT ON A '77. I LEFT THE A/C TYPE CENTER CONSOLE IN PLACE AND DIDN'T REMOVE THE EVAPORATOR.
I also

I WOULD REMOVE THE COMPRESSOR, THE DRYER AND HOSES IN THE FRONT TRUNK, THE CONDENSOR IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR AND LEAVE THE CENTER CONSOLE AND WHAT'S BEHIND IT ALONE.
