1500cc engine and 5 spd trans

Low Mileage
I just purchased a 1979 X1/9 w/o an engine or trans. Everything else is there and the car is in pretty good shape so I am looking for a used 1500cc engine and trans if anyone has one. I was thinking about a swap but might be too much work and money for me.

There is a member right there in Mesa that has a X based project (he is doing a engine swap), and collected a couple extra parts cars in the process. I know he recently got rid of some of it (including a engine and trans), but contact him and ask if he knows of anything:

I believe he may currently be recovering from an injury, and his business keeps him away a lot, but see if he has suggestions around AZ.

Thanks. I actually purchased this car from Ed. This was the last of the five X1/9's that he had. I was originally thinking of a K20 swap like Ed was planning to do but I might just look for a 1500cc engine so I have a weekend cruiser.
